A message from one of our founders:

MagiKats English and Maths has been operating as a franchise in the UK for over ten years. Founded by a family of educators (my family), the company's aim is to help children of all ages and from all backgrounds realise their full potential.

Over the last fifteen years and more, MagiKats has been able to help children from the UK, Australia, the Middle East, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore. One common theme has emerged - kids are all the same! No matter where they come from, all children need the input of enthusiastic teachers and excellent study materials to realise their full potential at school. The reality is that children often need additional help out of school - be it because they have a special educational need, are gifted or just a normal kid needing a boost.

Having gained a vast amount of experience with our franchisees, we are now pleased to be able to offer the opportunity to use our materials in a broader context. From country to country, and region to region, the vast differences from one area to another, be it of geography or culture, means that a flexible approach to education is required. The combination of the local knowledge of a tutor and our materials means that children can benefit from a boost in the English and/or maths skills in the most effective situation appropriate to them.

It doesn't stop with English and maths though. Our materials have been written to encourage interaction, discussion and thinking. Every pupil working with MagiKats materials is helped to develop not only subject skills, but also the thinking skills and problem solving skills that will set them up for life and set them apart from their peers.

My family are always looking for ways in which we can use our materials to help even more children, so please feel free to contact me direct by clicking here if you have any suggestions for how we can do this.

Thank you for reading.

Our History

Development of the MagiKats forerunner, Mathamagic, started in early 2004. It was originally intended to be used personally and locally in the UK, to give children help at the times when they especially need support - such as directly before end of year school exams, or entrance tests for selective schools.

It quickly became apparent that there was a need for a programme that directly supported children in the challenges posed by the UK's National Curriculum every day at school, not just at test time. Every child has different needs and so development moved towards devising a programme that would be capable of as much variation as the students that it sought to support. Today, the MagiKats programme is a comprehensive system, providing materials to help students aged up to 16 to master English and Maths.

MagiKats opened its first overseas centre in Australia in 2006, developing a small but successful network of Tuition Centres, some of which are still operating today. More recently, however, the opportunity to use their materials has been opened up to more independent tutors and tutoring companies, ensuring that more kids than ever can benefit from receiving support from the MagiKats programme.

Following a six-figure development in 2019, the new KATS system launched in October 2019 and now provides an online materials and classroom management system that will take the MagiKats programme into the 2020s and beyond.
